No new recorded coronavirus cases in Highlands but number of people in hospital goes up

THERE were no more confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Highlands in the last 24 hours, new figures have shown.

It means the total recorded by NHS Highlands stays at 331.

But the number of people being treated in hospital with suspected or confirmed Covid-19 increased from five to seven, while the number of people in intensive care is still fewer than five.

Some 187 people have tested positive across the whole of Scotland since yesterday, taking the national total to 14,447.

And 2094 people have died across the country since the outbreak began, a rise of 41 on the same point yesterday.

Elsewhere in the north, NHS Grampian recorded another 29 positive tests, for an overall tally of 1181. Its hospitals were also treating 92 people for the disease, with five receiving treatment in intensive care.
