No additional coronavirus cases confirmed in Highlands

THE region remains with two official coronavirus cases, according to today's Scottish Government statistics.

There have been no additional cases of the virus in the NHS Highland area in the past 24 hours, according to official statistics published today by the Scottish Government.

However, there were 18 new cases across Scotland, taking the national figure to 171.

The most are in the Greater Glasgow & Clyde health board area, where 44 people have been diagnosed with the disease.

So far there have been 4895 Scottish tests carried out.

Latest cases in Scottish health board areas: Ayrshire and Arran 7; Borders 7; Dumfries and Galloway 1; Fife 7; Forth Valley 10; Grampian 12; Greater Glasgow and Clyde 44; Highland 2; Lanarkshire 20; Lothian 29; Shetland 15 and Tayside 17.

UK-wide, as of 9am this morning, 44,105 people have been tested in the UK, of which 42,562 were confirmed negative and 1543 were confirmed as positive.
