'We are doing it for each other' says First Minister Nicola Sturgeon as coronavirus lockdown continues in Scotland

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has made a televised statement in the wake of lockdown rules in England being relaxed.
The First Minister has said in a televised statement that progress in tackling coronavirus in Scotland is "real" but "still fragile".
"The risk is still too great, too many people are still dying," she said, explaining the reasons for continuing with the lockdown in Scotland while restrictions in England are relaxed.
The First Minister said the Scottish Government was working with businesses on looking at ways for people to return to work safely; with parents and teachers on a return for schools; and on aspects of public transport so that it is also safe for passengers when restrictions are lifted.
The only change to the lockdown rules in Scotland so far, however, is that most people can now leave home for exercise more than once a day, though this does not apply for people who have symptoms of coronairus or are in the shielded group. They should remain indoors.
Ms Sturgeon said: "We are doing it for each other, not just ourselves.
"It is how we protect each other, protect our NHS and save lives and will also bring forward that moment when we can return to normality."
