Next of kin informed after woman's death on rail line near Highland capital

A casualty who was pronounced dead on the rail line near Inverness has been identified as a woman.

British Transport Police said her next of kin have been informed.

A spokeswoman said officers were working to establish the circumstances of her death.

Emergency services including police and paramedics were in attendance at the scene near Clachnaharry, west of the city, yesterday afternoon.

A Network Rail response unit also went to the scene.
