Dingwall has received a welcome boost to its housing market as work has now finished converting former education offices into flats.

The keys have been handed over for the 12 “stunning” social housing properties in Achany Road, including three fully adapted for wheelchair users. They will be available to rent soon to those on the Highland housing register and tenants will move in shortly.

The flats were designed in-house by the council’s own architecture service and built by O’Brien Homes.

The funding for the Achany Court project came from Highland Council and the Scottish Government.

Dingwall and Seaforth councillor Angela MacLean said: “It is stunning and has been done sympathetically to reflect the other properties in the vicinity.

“The standard of workmanship and the thought that has gone into building bespoke future proof homes that can be adapted to suit the needs of our tenants without the need to move, not only benefits our tenants but it also shows that Highland Council is focused on ensuring best value from our investment.

“I can’t wait to see the first tenants move in.”
