A Wester Ross resident is hoping to build a holiday letting unit in his garden.

Paul Howlett, of Opinan in Gairloch, has applied to Highland Council for permission to build a new cabin on the 6786 square metre site.

The site is described in the application form as garden ground and the proposal would not involve any vehicle access from a public road.

Mr Howlett is hoping to add two additional parking spaces, bringing the total at the property to four.

He is also proposing private drainage arrangements of a new or altered septic tank with discharge to the land via a soakaway.
