A PLAN to build a new £44 million superschool for Tain is to go before Highland councillors.

The local authority has just published a final consultation report into its proposal to build a new 3-18 years community campus in Tain.

If approved, it will be built on the site of the existing Tain Royal Academy and will comprise early years, primary, secondary, special needs and Gaelic provision.

The new campus will replace the academy, Knockbreck and Craighill primaries and St Duthus Special School.

The plan has been recommended for approval to councillors.

The original consultation on the proposal ran from September to October last year and attracted responses from parents, pupils and the community.

The report is due to be submitted to the Education, Children and Adult Services Committee on February 11.

Members of the public are invited to provide comments before February 10 so that councillors can take them into account before making a final decision.

The final report and associated papers can be found on the Council’s website.

Paper copies are also available for inspection at Tain Royal Academy, Craighill and Knockbreck primaries, St Duthus Special School and Tain Library.
