Members of the public still have a chance to give their views on improving safety at a key A9 junction.

MSP Kate Forbes is getting ready to make her final submission to a consultation on the Munlochy junction and is keen to make sure as many people’s voices as possible are heard on the subject.

Civil engineers WSP, appointed by Transport Scotland, have held two workshops with community representatives and have set a deadline for comments from elected representatives – such as MSPs, councillors and community councils – by the end of the month.

Ms Forbes said: “Having received well over 2000 submissions from my initial survey, I am well aware of the level of concern at the Munlochy junction as well as the need for urgent action.

“To that end I would welcome suggestions from Black Isle residents and other regular users of this junction before the end of the month so these can be considered.”

She added: “It is worth noting that the whole study is looking at the A9 corridor from North Kessock to Tore – the Tore roundabout has also been a concern so I’d also welcome comments from constituents about ways to improve road safety and active travel options here.”
