Torridon Mountain Rescue are inviting people to stay away over the bank holiday weekend.

Torridon Mountain Rescue Team has posted a message on its Facebook page, telling anyone thinking of coming to the mountains to think again.

Coronavirus restrictions mean that the mountains of Scotland have been off limits, to reduce the pressure on volunteers and the NHS.

In a message to its hundreds of Facebook followers, a spokeswoman for Torridon Mountain Rescue Team said: "As we approach the holiday weekend, we'd like to thank you for keeping our Torridon Mountain Rescue Team volunteers quiet over the last few weeks.

"Let's keep it that way this weekend and #staysafestaylocalstaywell. The hills will wait."
