Motorcyclist taken to hospital for treatment after accident on A896 near Torridon in Wester Ross

A man has been taken to hospital for treatment to a leg injury after a road traffic accident in Wester Ross.

The accident on the A896 happened at around 3.50pm this afternoon and their were reports locally of long tailbacks along Glen Torridon in its aftermath.

The accident involved three motorbikes on the road.

A police spokeswoman said: "One male, with a leg injury, has been taken to hospital by ambulance.

"No further details available at this time."

One traveller in the area reported a two-hour delay near Glen Cottage along the beauty spot route and said "traffic tailbacks both ways are looking very long".
