Engine problem forces cancellation of CalMac MV Loch Seaforth ferry service between Ullapool and Stornoway

A TECHNICAL issue with a ferry linking Wester Ross with the Western Isles has forced cancellation of services.

What is being described as an "ongoing technical issue with MV Loch Seaforth’s engine control system" prompted the cancellation of the service due to depart Ullapool this afternoon at 5:30pm.

The 2.50am service from Ullapool tomorrow morning has also been cancelled.

Ferry operator CalMac has also cancelled the 7am service that had been due to depart from Stornoway tomorrow (Tuesday).

It said there will be a review at around 8am tomorrow regarding the10:30am service due to depart from Ullapool.

CalMac said in an update: "Please note limited capacity is available on the 10:30am departing Ullapool and the alternative route via Uig-Tarbert."
