MOUNTAIN rescuers were scrambled when a hillwalker was reported overdue from a hike in the Glen Affric area yesterday.

Around 20 members from the Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team joined fellow rescuers from the RAF Lossiemouth Mountain Rescue Team and dog handlers from SARDA Scotland in the hunt.

After an extensive search, the missing person was traced "safe and well" in the Mullardoch area to the north of Glen Affric.
