A family in Dingwall have been hitting the streets in a charity walking challenge throughout February.
Marisska Slupek (18) and her mum Sharon and Auntie Stephanie have been running and walking 5k every day, raising money for cancer support charity Macmillan.
They wanted to mark the 10-year anniversary of their late dad and grandad, Neil Darling, who died of cancer on February 10, 2012.
The women were supported by Macmillan through the difficult time, and hope the funds raised can help others too.
The family have surpassed their goal of £1000, raising more than £1800.
Marisska said: “I wanted to do a fundraiser in memory of my grandad around his anniversary". My mum and my auntie thought it was a lovely idea and were so keen to do it with me.
“The choice of charity was obvious for us – Macmillan nurses supported my grandad and my
family though the last difficult moments and beyond.
"The work they do is honourable and very
challenging. We wanted to give something back to such a remarkable charity.”
98 per cent of Macmillan's funding comes from donations.
Madeleine Gillan, relationship fundraising manager for Macmillan in the North of Scotland, said: “What a heart-warming challenge.
“Marisska and her family are doing something wonderful to honour the memory of a man they loved so much.
"Each one of them have busy lives, so to give up their time every day for a month to do this is incredibly humbling.
“Everyone at Macmillan is grateful for their support after a difficult couple of years and we are proud of them for completing their challenge.”
