The mental health charity started the new group to support men in the area and to improve their mental health.

Run by men for men, the first meeting takes place tonight at the Hive centre.

Offering a confidential and safe space to talk, the charity hopes people will come along for a chat between 6:30pm-7:30pm.
They will introduce the group, discuss themes of future meetings and look at the impact covid and lockdown has had on everyone

The group will then pick the theme for the next discussion.

Emily Stokes, ceo of the charity, said: "We are delighted to be able to launch our monthly men's group - for men, by men, at our Hive at 19 Academy Street this evening.

"It's an opportunity for men to come together and talk about things in a safe and friendly environment that matter to them and their mental wellbeing. There will be a feature discussion each month, but also an opportunity to get to know each other, socialise and explore common interests. We hope in time that the group will be run by the men attending themselves with us in the background when we are needed.

"For those who are not familiar with Mikeysline or the Hive, it's also an opportunity to learn more about the support we can offer and access if wanted, separate 1:1 support."
