A TREASURED Black Isle public hall reopened in summer after being closed due to the coronavirus lockdown is bouncing back in a bid to serve its community.
An Art and Craft Christmas Fair at Resolis Memorial Hall at the weekend proved to be a welcome colourful interlude during the dark winter days.
With some income still to be added, the proceeds of the sale exceeded £400, which will go towards hall maintenance.
The display of paintings, prints and cards from Jenny Gunn, Barbara McHardy and Susy Cooper gave the hall a gallery like feel and a Christmas market atmosphere was created by the variety of crafts offered for sale.
The hall, built in the 1950s, is ready for winter with volunteers pointing to the fact it can be hired for just £10 an hour.
It has scope for badminton, yoga and other indoor activities, with good social distancing in the large hall. Tai chi classes are due to re-commence in the main hall in the New Year.
It also boasts weatherproof table tennis tables outside and a woodland area ideal for winter walks.
The hall committee thanked craft stall holders and volunteers Morag Macnamara and Christine Jones, who served hot drinks and mince pies, and Charles Cooper and Paul Musgreave for extracting, cutting, bagging and selling logs from dead trees in its woodland. Sales went well.
