A man has been jailed for 12 months after turning himself in to police with a knife on him.
Stephen Gemmell (37) showed up at Dingwall police station on September 13 this year with the blade on his person, Inverness Sheriff Court was told.
Defence agent George Mathers said: "The accused said if he was released he would find another weapon to hurt people with."
Mr Mathers said it was a "mystery" why his client, a prisoner of Barlinnine, had acted as he did.
Sheriff Sara Matheson imposed a 12-month jail sentence backdated to September 14.
