Police Scotland road policing unit officers in the Highlands appeal for information over crash near Tain, Ross-shire, which left man with 'life-threatening injuries'

POLICE have appealed for information after a one-vehicle crash near Tain left a man in hospital with "life-threatening injuries".

Officers said the crash occurred at around 11.45pm on Saturday and took place on Scotsburn Road, around a mile from Tain and near to the Quebec Bridge. It involved a red Volkswagen Golf.

Police said a 43-year-old man was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness with "life-threatening injuries".

Sergeant Ewan Calder, of the road policing unit, said: "We're appealing to anyone who might have seen a red Volkswagen Golf with the registration YE02 HDK shortly before the incident or has any information about this to contact us."

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 4985 of April 11.
