Man seriously injured and taken to hospital by ambulance after an incident at a Highland business in Longman Road, Inverness

Emergency services were called to assist a man who was injured in an accident at the Inverness Maltings on Longman Road.

The Ambulance Service, police and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene shortly after 9am this morning.

The man, believed to have been injured during works to build an extension to the Maltings, was taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital.

A police spokeswoman said: "Around 9.10am on Thursday August 12, officers were called to assist following a report of man injured at a business on Longman Road, Inverness.

"Officers attended and he was taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital."

A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call today at 9.07am to attend an incident on Longman Road, Inverness.

"We dispatched one ambulance and a Pre-hospital Immediate Care and Trauma team to the scene.

"We transported one male patient to Raigmore."

Scottish Fire and Rescue said it was asked by the Ambulance Service to assist.
