The man had faced other more serious sex offences at the High Court in Inverness, but a jury found four other charges not proven by a majority.

Michael Davidson (37) of Mains Avenue, Invergordon, was found guilty by the jury's majority of the single charge relating to the image though they deleted the suggestion that the offence, committed in February 2012, was carried out for the purposes of sexual gratification.

Davidson sobbed in the dock before the verdicts were delivered, and clasped his hands in prayer-like fashion when he was acquitted of most of the charges against him.

Sentence was deferred to the High Court in Glasgow on May 11.

A background report will be called for and bail was continued.

Davidson will learn at his sentencing if he is to be placed on the Sex Offenders' Register.
