A ROSS-SHIRE butcher best known for its award-winning Burns night haggis has concocted a quirky delicacy to tantalise taste buds for Valentine's Day.

George Cockburn and Son in Dingwall's Mill Street has established an enviable reputation for Scotland's national dish and is the go-to for many looking to celebrate the memory of the bard come the end of January.

The buthcr is now raising the stakes with some meaty Valentine's Day gambits.

These include a new sausage – not necessarily the first foodstuff that comes to mind for the romantic dinner.

It posted: "For Valentine's weekend, for the more adventurous, why not try Dougie's new spicy Mexican sausage – he has named it the love sausage!"
