ROSS County fans will tomorrow show their support for a star player allegedly targeted by racist abuse from a visiting team’s fan.

As previously reported, Ross County midfielder Yan Dhanda flagged up a comment made by a travelling fan in the 30th minute of the Staggies’ game against Hibernian last weekend to referee Don Robertson, who ensured the incident was noted.

A 27-year-old male was later arrested and charged, with a report to be made to the procurator fiscal, a statement from the club confirmed later.

Both clubs condemned the incident and said there’s no room in the game for discrimination.

Ross County did their talking on the field, picking up a valuable three points.

Staggies fans now plan voicing their support for their No 10 and spreading the message of opposition to discrimination more widely at their next crunch clash with Motherwell in Dingwall tomorrow.

Urging others to get involved, support group Staggies View posted: “We’re organizing a minute’s applause on the 10th minute of Saturday’s match vs Motherwell to stand against discrimination and abuse, and to stand with our number ten Yan Dhanda.”
