Landline fault affecting 999 calls in part of Wester Ross is 'now fixed'

A FAULT affecting landlines in the Achnashellach area has been fixed.

Police had earlier advised residents to use mobile phones if dialling the emergency services – after the fault affected local landlines.

But after the fault was fixed, the 999 service is now available as normal to both mobile and landline users.

"We have been advised by BT by that the earlier telephone system issues in the Achnashellach area have now been resolved and the 999 service is now available again," said a Police Scotland spokesman.
