Kyle of Sutherland Fisheries on hunt for climate resilience officer amid concern over warming rivers
Kyle of Sutherland Fisheries is looking for a full-time, permanent climate resilience and habitats officer.
A spokesman for the organisation said: "This post will lead local initiatives to combat climate change and improve habitats.
"The Kyle of Sutherland district is extremely at risk to impacts of climate change.
"Marine Scotland river temperature modelling has shown that rivers in the Kyle of Sutherland catchment are particularly vulnerable to warming under climate change."
The new postholder will work with landowners in the catchment area to create riparian woodland and peatland restoration schemes.
The fisheries would also like the successful candidate to become involved in other aspects of its work including river restoration and wetland creation, education, invasive species removal, smolt trapping and electrofishing.
The closing date for applications is Friday, December 3, and it is hoped to hold interviews in the week beginning December 14.
To apply, submit a CV and covering letter to: admin@kylefisheries.org
