Kessock Bridge was closed twice yesterday in the space of 10 hours.

After being shut from around 2.30pm to 3.20pm, it was later closed from around 11.10pm until about 12.20am today.

Motorists were alerted to both closures by Traffic Scotland, which described them as police incidents.

It is understood emergency services were responding to a concern for a person call last night – and the individual was traced.

In January, Police Scotland and Highland Council sought to reassure the public that work was under way to find a solution for repeated closures of the Kessock Bridge.
