EASTER Ross schoolchildren threw their own jubilee party day yesterday with members of the community pulling together to ensure a memorable day.

South Lodge Primary head teacher David Hayes-Macleod said: "A massive thank you to my amazing Parent Council who spent all morning getting the gazebos up, decorating, taking out the tables etc.

"They did an amazing job. A massive thank you also to Invergordon Development Trust for allowing us to borrow the gazebos at very little notice – thank you so, so much. Also a huge thank you to Keenan Widdows for his fantastic pipe playing for lunch. Also to our fantastic kitchen staff. The food was out of this world and the effort you guys went to was immense. Thank you so much.

"As one child said it has been the best week at school in his life.

"That says it all for me!"
