TECHNICAL problems with a mobile unit used for breast screening checks for women in Ross-shire has prompted NHS Highland to rearrange existing appointments.

The NHS Scotland mobile breast screening van, currently based at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Dingwall, "is experiencing technical issues and has been closed", NHS Highland stated.

NHS Highland said that all women who were scheduled to attend an appointment at the screening van are being contacted to rearrange them as soon as possible.

The rearranged appointments will be held in the Highland Breast Centre at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.

NHS Highland has apologised for the inconvenience.
