Supermarket staff in an Easter Ross store were threatened and abused by an Inverness man.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard that 22-year-old Stephen Dick had gone into the Co-op in Invergordon's High Street on February 18 and stole a quantity of food.

He then behaved aggressively towards a member of staff and threatened her with violence.

On February 20, Dick returned to the same store and engaged in similar behaviour towards another member of staff.

Later the same day, Dick brandished a bottle at a man in Innes Street, Inverness and uttered abusive remarks.

Dick, who is on remand for another matter, appeared from custody and admitted the theft, plus three charges of threatening or abusive behaviour.

Dick, of Mackintosh Road, Inverness had sentence deferred until July 20 for a background report.
