THE UK’s biggest cruise ship, the Britannia, docked in Invergordon this morning on her maiden call to the port.
The luxury liner, owned by P&O Cruises, was launched in March after being officially named by the Queen.
Britannia tied up alongside at 9am and is spending the day in the port.
It will be the largest cruise ship to call at Invergordon this season.
Carrying 3,600 passengers and 1,400 officers and crew, she is under the command of Captain Paul Brown.
Passengers are enjoying specially arranged trips to the Highlands’ main tourist attractions including Dunrobin Castle, Loch Ness, Glenmorangie Distillery at Tain and Cawdor Castle among many.
The Invergordon Music and Dance Group will entertain passengers on board in the evening on the Lido Deck. Dornoch Pipe Band will be playing on the pier when the ship departs at 10pm tonight.
Iain Dunderdale, cruise development manager at the port, said: "The arrival of Britain’s biggest cruise ship shows that the port is an important gateway to the Highlands for thousands of visitors. Britannia will be a huge boost to the economy of this area."
The cruise ship set sail from Southampton for her maiden UK voyage which takes in South Queensferry, Invergordon, Kirkwall, Greenock, Liverpool, Dun Laoghaire and Cobh in Ireland, and finally St Peter Port in Guernsey before returning to Southampton.
