PEOPLE in Invergordon are being invited to view progress on a multi-million pound sea reclamation project in the town.
The shoreline of the Cromarty Firth has been changing shape over the past months as the port authority reclaims nine acres of seabed to enlarge the Invergordon Service Base.
A public exhibition will be held by the Port of Cromarty Firth to showcase the enhancements to the current facilities.
It will be held at the Arts Centre, Invergordon, High Street, on Thursday May 28 between 5-7pm.
Since February 2014, work has been underway to reclaim the seabed and construct a new 154-metre deep-water quay.
It involves an investment of more than £24 million by the trust port.
The new facilities will open up new markets and business opportunities in the Cromarty Firth, helping to ensure the continued growth and long term future of the port, for the benefits of all its stakeholders.
Bob Buskie, chief executive of Port of Cromarty Firth, said he was looking forward to discussing the progress of this major expansion with local people.
He said: "This is a truly exciting time and I am delighted that the public will have the opportunity to be updated as the project enters its final stage of construction.
The expansion project aims to secure the long-term future of the Port through a programme of ongoing investment and regeneration."
The project is due to be completed in August.
