A MEMORIAL golf day for a young Easter Ross man who died from diabetes has raised over £2000 for an Endowment Fund at Raigmore Hospital.
Allan Ross was a former pupil of Kiltearn Primary and Alness Academy. He was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 16 and died tragically at his home in 2004 unexpectedly at the age of 24 from complications relating to his diabetes.
The annual Allan Ross Memorial Golf Day held at Invergordon Golf Club raised the sum of £2215 for the Diabetes Endowment Fund at Raigmore Hospital.
Invergordon Golf Club has hosted the event for 15 years.
The golf outing in Allan's memory has been faithfully supported by friends, family well-wishers, and local sponsors.
Over the years it has raised over £30,000 for the endowment fund which is used to support the work of the diabetes clinic at Raigmore.
Allan was a keen golfer and member of Invergordon Golf club.
A tree was planted in his memory at the course.
His mum Kate said: "We can't thank the golf club and its staff enough for their help and support and of course Allan's friends and family who attended the golf day.
"We have a big raffle with prizes donated by local businesses and the competitors themselves and we also had a quiz night prior to the gold day and that raised over £700 so the total raised this year was nearer £3000."
Ten teams of four participated in the event.
