A RETAILER at the heart of an Easter Ross community paid its own tribute to the NHS and other key workers last night.

The Clap for Carers event has become a weekly show of appreciation for the NHS and front line workers during the coronavirus public health crisis.

This has included buildings being lit what is now being described as 'NHS blue' as a symbol of solidarity.

Many famous landmark buildings from Eilean Donan Castle in Lochalsh to the Kessock Bridge have been transformed by light shows.

Last night, the Co-op on Invergordon's High Street joined the movement as the building was transformed with the help of Prism Lighting.

Staff and well-wisheers observing social distancing turned out to applaud during the event.

The local Co-op said on its fundraising page: "Tonight our wee shop paid tribute to all the key workers near and far. We're all in this together."

They paid tribute to Prism Event Lighting "for taking the time to light us up".
