AN iconic Ross-shire peak formed the backdrop for a determined litter pick organised by a recently formed group.

The Garve Litter Busters group was launched after being awarded a micro grant from the Lochluichart Community Trust .

It used the grant to purchase equipment equipment and is set to coordinate friendly litter picks in and around Garve area.

It staged a "Big Pick" around the Ben Wyvis care park, collecting more than 13 bin bags worth "and numerous pieces of vehicle debris".

Volunteers also covered an area half a mile south of Ben Wyvis car park half a mile north and the trail to the base of Ben Wyvis. Group member John Forteith later posted: "A great effort by all, and hugely appreciated."

The next effort will pick up where they left off along the main road. He said: "So keep our beautiful area beautiful, please!"
