The Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards have issued a final call for businesses to enter as they extend the entry deadline to Friday, June 16.

The annual Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards showcase and celebrate excellence and achievement in the food and drink industry in the Highlands and Islands.

Businesses are invited to submit their nominations across 14 categories. This year, the awards are launching three new categories to reach an even wider-cross section of the industry: E-commerce award, Best Start-up and Best Street Food award.

Douglas Hardie, co-owner of Bad Girl Bakery, director of Highland Food & Drink Trail and former winner said: “I would encourage businesses of all sizes to enter the awards ‒ it’s a great way of raising the profile of your business or product. Whether you are looking to drive awareness amongst peers; get your name into the media; create a buzz across social media; or if you are looking for a new buyer; the Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards are a recognised and trusted accolade.”

The awards are supported by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE). Elaine Jamieson, head of Food and Drink and Life Sciences at HIE, added: “Each year, we look forward to the Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards ‒ it is a true celebration of the exceptional produce, talented makers and producers, and first-rate experiences in our region.

“It’s great to see how the accolades can impact the winning business’s profile and lead to significant new market opportunities. Once again, Highlands and Islands Enterprise is proud to support the awards and we look forward to meeting friends old and new in October.”

Shortlisting will take place during the summer. Winners will be revealed at the awards ceremony at Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness on Friday, October 27. Tickets will be available to buy at the end of August.
