Eight days of road closures flagged in Highland village of Helmsdale for resurfacing work by BEAR Scotland

RESURFACING work in a Highland community is set to see a number of roads closed for just over a week.

Highland Council has been made aware by BEAR Scotland of a number of forthcoming road closures which will affect streets in the Sutherland village of Helmsdale.

Traffic will be temporarily prohibited from using the following roads from 7am on November 2 to 7am on November 10:

Link road A9T – A897, commencing at its junction with the A9 to its junction with C1046 Gartymore – West Helmsdale Road.

Dunrobin Street, commencing at its junction with the A9 to its junction with U2423 Dunrobin Street – East Sutherland Street.

Dunrobin Street, commencing at its junction with the A9 to its junction with U2437 Trentham Street.

Sutherland Street, commencing at its junction with the A9 to its junction with U2437 Trentham Street.

Sutherland Street, from its junction with the A9 to its termination in a turning head, a distance of 135 metres.

Strathnaver Street, from its junction with the A9 to its junction with the U2437 Trentham Street.

Old Caithness Road, from its junction with the A9 to its junction with the U2432 Lilleshall Street.

Glebe Terrace, from its junction with the A9 Inverness to its junction with the U2398 Simpson Crescent.

The road closures are necessary to allow BEAR to carry out surfacing works, Highland Council said.
