PATCHES of frost and ice on routes across the Highlands have been reported by counciul workers this morning.
Highland Council's winter treatment of roads in its area follows an agreed policy which can be found online at www.highland.gov.uk/gritting and gives priority to certain key routes.
At the weekend, the Met Office issued a weather warning for possible snow on Wednesday.
Temperatures today in Dingwall are not expected to rise above 3C.
on the west coast, Gairloch could see a maximum of 5C as could Tain.

A snapshot summary of road conditions for Monday:
Ross and Cromarty
There has been rain in early morning with temperatures a little higher than forecasted. Precautionary treatment is being given in case of dips in temperature at daylight. No known issues.
Badenoch and Strathspey
There are damp and wet roads throughout the area with the odd ice patch on higher routes. Winter treatment being carried out. No known overnight issues.
Caithness
All routes sparkling with patches of frost, all routes & footpaths being treated, no known issues reported.
Inverness
There is grey frost on roads and winter treatment being carried out.
Lochaber
Roads and damp/dry and winter treatment is being carried out as planned. No known overnight issues.
Nairn
Roads are dry with the odd frost and ice patch on higher routes. Winter treatment being carried out and no known overnight issues.
Skye and Raasay
Roads are dry with some reports of hoar frost in Glendale area. Winter treatment is being carried out across Primary, Secondary, and other routes. No known overnight issues to report.
Sutherland
All routes have been checked and treated as necessary including footpaths. There is a good sparkle with icy patches.
School closures
As of 9am this morning there were no school closures because of bad weather conditions.
