A GYM is set to open at the Inverness Shopping Park on Eastfield Way with staff currently being hired.

It is understood that the Everlast Fitness Club is to move into the DW Sport gym premises that closed earlier this year.

A Highland jobs agency has posted an online message from Everlast saying that they are opening a new club in Eastfield Way, Inverness soon, and are seeking a general manager with management experience in leisure or hospitality.

Everlast also have openings for a fitness experience manager, member experience manager and front of house staff. Anyone interested is urged to see their website to view details of the available positions.

The website said their Inverness club would be offering half price membership for the rest of 2020 and no joining fee.

The site stated: "Everlast Fitness are the newest business venture of the international retail giant Sports Direct and we are taking the fitness world by storm.

"In our world the passion and ambition of our people have kept us moving. Their passion for fitness is second to none, their knowledge and service levels hook the customer, their drive and ambition to be the best is unrivalled."

The front of house staff search said: "As an Everlast Fitness employee you will be joining us at this fantastic growth and development time and you will see the business go from strength to strength along with it your career. The Front of House team are responsible for making every member feel like a VIP delivering fantastic customer service, promoting and selling club merchandise and ensuring the facility is clean and tidy."

National chain DW Sports that had a gym, pool and sportswear store on Eastfield Way in the shopping park, went into administration in August, and gym members were told that part of the business would not be reopening. The sportswear store above the gym is now occupied by Sports Direct.

At that time DW Sports said the onset of Covid lockdown compromised the future viability of the business due to the enforced closure of both their gym portfolio and the stores.
