A new mother threw a stone through her partner's window when she learned he had their child in the company of a person she regarded as "dangerous".

Elaine Mackenzie, of Caberfeidh Drive, Invergordon went to his home in Fortrose at about 7pm on May 14 after phoning him.

Fiscal depute Shay Traynor said: "When he returned, he saw that she was irate and there was a hole in his window."

The 36-year-old mother of an eight-month-old was arrested by police and she told them: "I threw a stone at the window. I am sorry. I shouldn't have done it."

Defence solicitor Liam Runciman told Sheriff Sara Matheson: "She had been drinking heavily. The father of her child was in the company of a person who she described as 'dangerous' and she was angry.

"She tells me she is embarrassed by this."

Mackenzie was fined £290.
