Highland Hospice pays tribute to volunteer stalwart

Tributes have been paid to a long-running Highland Hospice volunteer from Ross-shire, after she passed away.

Isobel Murray, who died last week, was a volunteer with the hospice for more than 30 years.

Paying tribute to her on Wednesday night, a Highland Hospice spokesperson said: "We are very sad to hear that Isobel Murray from our Golspie Area Fundraising Group died last week.

"Isobel was a volunteer with us for 32 years.

"Most recently, she acted as Service Manager for Sutherland Care Forum, whose befriending service 'Friends at Home', works in partnership with Highland Hospice.

"Following the pandemic, Isobel also introduced our 'No One Dies Alone' initiative to the area.

"We greatly appreciate Isobel’s dedicated long-term support of Highland Hospice, and our thoughts are with her family at this sad time."
