Highland Hospice says volunteers play a vital role in processing donations suitable for its charity shops.

AFTER calling a halt to donations to its retail warehouse following a huge response to an earlier appeal, Highland Hospice is again welcoming them.

And the charity is also appealing for new recruits to help process the huge quantity of pre-owned donated items it has received.

It depends on donations and sales in its charity shops to fund its service for the Highlands.

In common with with a number of other charities, it found itself inundated with donations as people had time for clear-outs during the coronavirus lockdown period.

It said this week: "We're happy to announce that our retail warehouse at 8 Harbour Road is accepting donations again! We've been amazed by the volume of donations we've received in recent weeks. Thank you for your generosity!

"Our wonderful warehouse volunteers have been hard at work, preparing these items for our Highland Hospice shops. Whether it's testing electronics or sorting through clothes, volunteers play a vital role in raising revenue for our cause.

"We're always looking for volunteers to join our warehouse and shop teams. Interested in helping out? Visit highlandhospice.org/volunteer for more information."
