Our schools offer so much more than a learning environment for our pupils.

The teachers, staff and students all work together to create a safe and welcoming space for everyone to learn in, work in and to grow in, whether it is achieving academic success or working hard to benefit the community.

Highland Heroes recognises and celebrates the very special role that schools have in our communities with the school of the year award.

The Heroes school of the year will be a school where the teacher and teams within, raise the standards of education and make a positive impact on the personal and academic success beyond inspection reports, whether it is achieving academic excellence or working hard to contribute to the community.

NOMINATE at www.hnmedia.co.uk/highlandheroes/ in any of the categories by December 17.

The school of the year award is sponsored by Ross-shire Engineering (RSE).

Jill Joiner, RSE, customer and stakeholder manager, said: “RSE continues to support the Highland Heroes Awards as an opportunity to recognise and commend the people and organisations within our local communities who improve the lives of others, whether this is through their work, volunteering, or fundraising.

“This year, RSE is delighted to continue our support of the school of the year award and recognise all the hard-working teachers, pupils and support staff shortlisted for this category. We'd like to encourage nominations to be submitted for local Highland schools that have gone above and beyond to provide a successful learning environment for young people where they have the space, support and resources to thrive.”

Each week, your favourite Highland News & Media (HNM) websites and newspapers will feature each category.
