Local fundraisers make a huge contribution to our communities ‒ and not just financially!

Their dedication and hard work organising fantastic events in their spare time and persuading people to part with their cash not only helps raise much needed money for charities and causes, but also raises awareness about what these organisations do and the people that need their support.

Highland Heroes celebrates the amazing fundraisers in our communities with the fundraiser of the year award.

The recipient will be an individual who has made outstanding contributions to fundraising outside of their working role.

NOMINATE at https://www.hnmedia.co.uk/highlandheroes/ in any of the categories by December 17.

The 2023 hero was Chloe Tuach. Chloe, along with dad, Gary, organised a Las Vegas-style event at the Macdonald Drumossie Hotel in Inverness raising thousands of pounds for Highland Hospice, Mikeysline, and the Celebrating Amy Community Fund which was also able to support MFR Cash for Kids, Step Up for Sam, Dream Believe Achieve, Tarradale Primary School and Black Isle Breast Cancer Care.

The event was held in memory of Chloe’s mum, Amy, who passed away in 2022 after a battle with diabetes. The event was attended by more than 260 guests and raised over £30,000 to be split between the charities.

Sponsoring the fundraiser of the year award is Sharon Leon Home Floorings. Director, Jeni Alexander, said: “Sharon Leon is absolutely delighted to once again support this fantastic event that recognises and celebrates some of the wonderful, kind, supportive, inspiring and resilient people in our community.”
