This summer's Highland Field Sports Fair has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Organisers of the annual event at Moy said: "After very careful consideration of the current Covid-19 crisis, the fair committee and organising team for the Highland Field Sports Fair, have taken the difficult but necessary decision to cancel this year’s event which was scheduled for August 7 and 8.

"The health and wellbeing of all of the fair’s staff, volunteers, contractors, traders and visitors as well as the residents of Moy Estate, is absolutely paramount.

"Given the current and foreseeable health risks posed by Covid-19, the safety of all involved with the event is a very significant concern and therefore the disappointing decision to cancel the fair has had to be taken.

"The fair committee would very much like to thank everyone who has been involved with the planning and arrangements that have already taken place for the 2020 fair, as well as those who had all confirmed their intention to be present and make the event another great success.

"The committee will now focus upon making the 2021 Highland Field Sports Fair a successful and memorable event and will look forward to welcoming everyone back to Moy on August 6 and 7, 2021."
