A routine check by police discovered a 24-year-old North Kessock man driving with too much cannabis in his system.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told that Cameron Gray, of Balnabrath Way, had been stopped by officers on the Old Military Road, near Ardersier, on the evening of November 26, 2022.

A saliva swipe proved positive for the drug and a later blood test revealed a reading of 7mcgs of cannabis when the legal driving limit is 2mcgs.

Gray admitted drug-driving and was fined £420 and banned from driving for a year by Sheriff Ian Cruickshank.
