Highland Council raises alarm over free school meals scam
Highland Council has taken to social media to warn parents of a school meals scam.
It appears that families are receiving text messages from someone asking for bank details.
Schools closed last week due to the coronavirus and questions have been raised about how children entitled to school meals will receive them.
A spokesman for Dalneigh Primary School in Inverness said: "We have been made aware of texts being sent to parents asking for bank details to allow free school meals to be delivered to them.
"This is a scam. Do not give out your bank details.
"We are currently awaiting further guidance regarding free school meals."
