Highland Council Election: Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh declares its results as four councillors are set to take on the largest ward in the UK

In Brief

Those Elected (numbers shown reflect first preference votes):

Chris Birt, Scottish National Party – 988

Biz Campbell, Independent – 1552

Liz Kraft Scottish National Party – 1234

Patrick Logue Scottish Conservative and Unionist – 937

Those Not Elected:

Margot Kerr Scottish Liberal Democrats – 700

Main Issues: Lack of investment, local democracy, rurality, services, connectivity, mass tourism, housing

The SNP secure another double win of the day with two new councillors elected for the same ward.

Chris Birt and Liz Kraft were both elected on the SNP ticket and will join Patrick Logue of the Conservative party and the redoubtable Independent Biz Campbell in council.
