A LEADING Highland business figure has urged small firms to take advantage of a special Covid-19 webinar talk with Scotland's National Clinical Director.

Jason Leitch is set to discuss the coronavirus and its implications for small businesses in the special webinar, which has been set up by the Federation of Small Businesses and will take place next week.

The one-hour long webinar, which will run from 10am on Tuesday, September 8, will give people the chance to put questions about the Test & Protect system, as well as ask about the ways other Covid guidelines impact their business.

David Richardson, the Federation of Small Businesses' Development Manager for the Highlands and Islands, has urged people to register and submit their questions.

"With local flare-ups occurring in cities, we must do everything possible to prepare for the worst should the same thing happen in the Highlands and Islands. Jason Leitch is the expert – join us for this great opportunity!"

A spokesman for the FSB added: "Small businesses from across Scotland will have the opportunity to ask questions of the public health expert looking at how the rules apply in their business and how to keep staff, customers and themselves safe.

"FSB’s Director of Devolved Nations Colin Borland will chair this exclusive small business briefing where Jason will talk with the FSB and small businesses about:

  • "The progress of the coronavirus crisis;
  • "The rules which firms have to follow to keep their customers and staff safe;
  • "The Test & Protect system and the responsibilities of Scottish small businesses in the event of an outbreak."
