The annual Highland Business Awards celebrate the diversity, innovation and resilience of organisations throughout the region with categories for all!

Large or small, well-established or just starting out, businesses are being invited to nominate themselves or another organisation.

Nominations are open until 5pm, Friday, August 4. Nomination forms can be downloaded at www.inverness-chamber.co.uk/events

The winners will be announced at the Highland Business Awards lunch at the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness on Friday, September 29. There are also sponsorship opportunities available.

Paula Nicol, deputy chief executive and head of events at Inverness Chamber of Commerce, said: “Entering an award can seem like a lot of work when everyone is busy, which is why we’ve made the process for the Highland Business Awards as simple and straightforward as possible, and taking some time to reflect on your business achievements can be a really positive exercise.

“Our past finalists and winners demonstrate that no matter the size and location of your business, everyone has the potential to be successful, so we really encourage businesses from across the Highlands to put themselves forward.

“There are other ways to get involved with the Highland Business Awards too. The awards celebrate the strength and diversity of business in the Highlands and sponsoring a category is a fantastic way to demonstrate your organisation’s affinity with these principles and support the continued growth of the Highland economy. We have a number of categories still available and would be delighted to hear from businesses who’d like to know more about the opportunities.”

Previous winner, Parklands Care Homes, won three awards at last year’s event: Highland business of the year; innovation; and business leader of the year was Parklands’ managing director, Ron Taylor.

Mr Taylor added: “We were absolutely delighted to win a hat-trick at last year’s Highland Business Awards. We really didn’t expect it, and it was such a welcome surprise. We’re very proud of our membership of Inverness Chamber of Commerce and winning these awards was a very special moment for us, and a tremendous vote of confidence in our hard-working staff. We would absolutely encourage local firms to enter this year’s awards; it can make such a positive difference to your business reputation and staff morale.”

The awards bring an end to this year’s Highland Business Week. Running from Monday, September 25, it features an exciting programme of events including networking opportunities and seminars along with the Highland Spotlight business exhibition at the Macdonald Drumossie Hotel on Tuesday, September 26. Over 50 companies will be exhibiting and around 300 people participating on the day.
