A LOO-nique cake inspired by a public toilet in Wester Ross is set to raise a tasty sum for a lifeline charity.

Whether or not Kinlochewe Public Toilets have ever been rendered in cake form before is unknown – but is clear is that the effort will pull in over £100 for a charity which helps provide sanitation, clean water and hygiene education in some of the world's poorest countries.

A toilet twinning drive supported by Tearfund helps some of the estimated 1.7 billion people around the world who don’t have somewhere safe and hygienic to go to the toilet.

The project, which is being backed by Gairloch and Loch Ewe Action Forum (GALE) in Wester Ross, works to improve sanitation and access to clean water.

GALE posted: "Taking bids for this amazing cake showing Kinlochewe Public Toilets!

"Someone has already bid £100 – can we go higher? Incredible cake and for a great cause!"

Inviting others to get involved, it says people can donate some baking or volunteer time to help at the fundraiser or visit Gairloch High School pupil Iain’s fundraising stall where he will be selling home baking and preserves to raise funds in aid of Toilet Twinning.

There are donation boxes at all the public loos in the area and you can also donate online at https://www.toilettwinning.org/donate/; http://easydonate.org/JIAJ03 - Poolewe Public Toilets; http://easydonate.org/JIAJ02 - Aultbea Public Toilets or leave donations at The GALE Centre.
