Met Office issues yellow warning for heavy rain in parts of Ross-shire; alert extends from Torridon in Wester Ross in the north to the Cowal peninsula in Argyll and Bute in the south; and from Rum and parts of Skye in the west to Perth in the east

A HEAVY rain warning has been issued for parts of Ross-shire.

The Met Office has issued a yellow alert amid a forecast for rain on Tuesday. The alert will come into force at 6am tomorrow and remain in place until midnight that night.

"Heavy rain is likely to lead to some travel disruption during Tuesday," said a Met Office forecaster.

"Flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible. Bus and train services will probably be affected, with journey times taking longer.

"Spray and flooding on roads will probably make journey times longer."

The warning covers the likes of the Applecross peninsula, Torridon, Lochalsh, Glen Shiel, and Achnasheen, among others.
