“KEEP well” — that’s the message going out to residents of an Easter Ross village later this month.

The Mercat Centre in Milton will host a day of free health checks for locals on Wednesday, June 27 as part of a national programme being backed by NHS Highland.

The Keep Well campaign offers free, targeted health checks to people aged between 35 and 64.

The checks provide aim to make a positive difference to a person’s health by reducing the possible risk of future disease “and helping to make them feel better now”.

The 30-minute checks can be carried out by a health practitioner, pharmacist or paramedic and include a physical check up, general questions about health and lifestyle and a chance for people to ask about any problems or worries.

The Mercat Centre sessions will run from 8am onwards on June 27. Pop in on that day for a check. To find out more, call or text 0790 1671083 and leave a message or e-mail serena.ferguson@nhs.net
